Rosenbloom, a non-traditional student with a distinctive educational journey and an unwavering commitment to the institution and its principles. Her commitment to UVI’s mission is a shining example of the university’s values, inspiring us all to align with these principles.
Shugga, affectionately known by her acquaintances as ‘Ms. Shugg’, continuously displays a deep-rooted commitment to UVI in her travels abroad.
Currently a resident of Cannes, France, Shugga is a frequent visitor to the French Riviera, Nice, Monaco, Paris, and London. She actively promotes UVI to tourists, visitors, and strangers, effectively spreading positive messages about UVI to thousands of individuals, organizations, and foreign businesses. Her efforts have significantly increased UVI’s visibility on a global platform, inspiring others with her dedication.
Rosenbloom’s dedication is evident through her recent appointments within the UVI community. She was recently named a board member-at-large for the University of the Virgin Islands Association of Black Journalists (UVI ABJ), a group dedicated to elevating the voices of Black journalists and fostering diversity within the eld. Rosenbloom is now the Associate Manager of Multimedia Journalism for UVI Voice 2.0, the online student newspaper.
In this role, she brings a forward-thinking approach to the university’s news outlet, extending beyond digital print to include video, blogging, and an increasing social media presence. Rosenbloom lends her literary support to the publication, which provides timely news and stories from a Caribbean perspective, amplifying “one voice at a time.”
Rosenbloom’s influence and dedication continue to extend far beyond the Virgin Islands. In February 2025, she will attend the World Current students and graduates of the print/broadcast journalism program at UVI vigorously applaud her meritorious feats.

She will attend the World artificial Intelligence Cannes Festival (WAICF) to explore the latest AI and technology and bring fresh ideas and inspiration to UVI ABJ and UVI Voice 2.0.
In addition, Shugga will represent both organizations in France at the MiCannes Music and Entertainment Industry networking conference.
She will network with various French mass media on behalf of Music Specialist Global. Notably, Rosenbloom personally funds these international travels, a testament to her dedication and commitment to UVI and its mission.
